The Long Distance Guru - Part 1

HELLO! So my boyfriend traveled for 6 months to study abroad and I thought "why not blog about it?"
My first long distance post is going to be a set of advice for anyone going through something like this.

  1. Don't watch The Notebook. Or anything by Nicholas Sparks. Or any romantic movie at all. Just don't come near them. You might as well just throw out your TV just in case something pops up.
  2. Come up with activities that you can do on your own. Like sleeping.. until he comes back.
  3. Eat a ton of ice-cream and stock up on fatty comfort food, that's surely going to make him love you more when he gets back and sees your "developed" body.
  4. Tell EVERYONE about how miserable you are. Drown everyone you know with words about how much you miss him and can't wait until he comes back. I can guarantee your friends will LOVE to stay by your side then.
  5. Spam social media with daily pictures of you two together and caption them "Look how happy we looked when you were still here <3, love you habibi, always on my mind, forever in my heart" CHEESY CHEESY CHEESY!
  6. Cover your room with pictures of him, print his face on your pillow, print his face on your sheets, print his face on your couch, Print his face everywhere.
  7. DO NOT give him space. Text him every minute of the day. He'll surely feel like he misses you then.
  8. Google "Long distance songs".. nuff said.
  9. Go out on "dates" alone. Just sit there and order two platters. Just cause he's gone doesn't mean you can't get your friday night dates.
  10. DON'T DO ANY OF THE ABOVE THINGS!
So yeah I'm taking this humorously but long distance isn't a walk in the park. Keep a positive attitude and dream of the moment your loved one gets back, it'll all be worth the wait! :)

A MUST-WATCH VIDEO!!!!!!

HIT THAT PLAY BUTTON!!!!

I stumbled upon this video while youtubeing Jaymes Young songs and I never loved a short youtube video this much.

Whoever said if two people are meant to be together they'll find their way to each other would be so proud of this video. The video starts out with an encounter between a young man and woman and it's instantly obvious that it is love at first sight! What's adorable about the video is how realistic it is regarding what the two characters are doing. The girl shyly touches her hair while the boy mischievously smiles, happy that she walked into his boring daily routine and spiced things up.

Eventually she gets on a train and they both look at each other as if it's the last time they see each other. Fortunately, however, he spots her from his office window in the building across the street, and the look on his face is priceless. Any girl would want a guy to be this enthusiastic to see her again, and I'm sure every girl will find a guy who will be. The events unravel as the boy tries to reach her but he fails miserably. By the end of the video though, they finally find each other again and it's absolute perfection!

It's a very typical love story done in the most atypical way. It incorporates romance and humor with amazing animation techniques. It's a pity if anyone misses out on this video because I'm 100% sure it's going to put a smile on everyone's face!

Underrated artist of the month: June

Hi everyone! I decided to add a monthly post to my blog about new or underrated artists. I realize while listening to songs on YouTube that there are many incredible artists that are barely heard of so I thought I'd add a few people to their fandom by mentioning them on my blog. This post won't always feature singers necessarily but this month's artist happens to be one.

This month's underrated artist is Jaymes Young. His music is so magical and will definitely speak to your soul. His voice is one of the best I've ever heard and it's so raw. His songs are kind of different than your usual radio music but they're the best kind of different. I discovered him yesterday while getting ready with my bestie. We were putting our makeup on and turned on a playlist on 8tracks. A few songs into the playlist and his song "I'll be good" popped. We directly googled him and we instantly adored his music. His music is very relaxing, and his lyrics are so relate-able in a weird way. Check out the first song we ever heard by him and I hope that leads you to start pressing on his other suggested songs just like I did!
