Between

Hi everyone! Last time I wrote a post about texting and driving, a lot of you read it and really agreed with my anger about the issue! Today I come to you with a new driving issue in mind. Let's picture this together; you're on the highway, calmly driving to college, work, whatever.. and then you hear it, a roaring engine, it starts off as a quiet whisper making its way towards you, then its sound becomes higher, clearer, you know it's coming, it's practically there, in a matter of seconds you look in your side mirror and there it is. It's a regular car (nope not a sports car everyone) speeding between cars, going from one lane to another every second, trying to fit in that little space between two cars driving next to each other. What.are.you.doing? How do you have the effort to twist your steering wheel so much? AND how are you so sure you're going to fit in that little rabbit hole between the cars?! Now you all might be thinking that maybe whoever does this gets places faster, but I assure you that's not the case. When we end up stopping and traffic forms,I'm the car right behind that idiot that was going wild before, and yes I will honk at him/her. Last night, I was coming back home and I had Elena with me, and we saw someone doing that, and we both literally felt like we will hear a crash sooner or later. I've been mad about the so-called "betweeneit" for ages, and now that I'm driving, I'm actually involved and I don't want to be the car they so stupidly hit. Please knock it off.

This is where you belong:

Wednesday mood booster!

Hi everyone! It's Wednesday YAY! The week is halfway through! Thought I'd share a cute video to brighten up your day! This is what I watched in the cafeteria this morning to put myself in a better mood! Babies are adorable and so pure, you can't not love them! I have this thing where I sometimes actually just youtube baby videos, cause I'm Nadine and that's what I enjoy doing lol. I feel bad for my friends when I go out with them and we see babies cause I start squeaking and producing baby sounds. I just LOVE babies! Have a good day guys and I hope this puts a smile on your faces!! :)

TOP 5 OSCARS LOOKS!!

Hi everyone! As most of you know, last night was one of the most anticipated award shows, the Oscars! As usual, I have a thing for looking at the outfits, but today I beat my record and actually checked the dresses at like 7 AM in the university cafeteria. God be with the people who hang out with me for dealing with this. So let's get down to it.

5.
Jessica Chastain wows in a Navy blue Givenchy dress. I'm usually not a fan of Givenchy dresses but this one's gorgeous! I love how it seems like two layers. The sequined part is such a nice touch to the dress. I especially loved the amount of skin it covers which is just the right amount! What is different about this look is that she didn't try to match the dress with a different color shoe. Instead she went with a navy pair of heels which are the exact color of her dress. She looks classy from head to toe. Her hair, makeup, and jewels add the perfect finishing touches!

4.
I usually refuse to agree with any of my guy friends if a girl is pretty but I can't with Margot Robbie cause I'd definitely be lying. She looks stunning in a Saint Laurent black dress that wraps perfectly around her body. I love the V-neck cut this dress has in which she filled up the void with a $1.5 million Van Cleef and Arpels  necklace known as the "Zip Antique" which is the exact replica of a necklace first commissioned by the Duchess of Windsor in 1938 (I think this is pretty cool). The sheer sleeves give her a sultry look without even trying. I especially love her cropped hair and I adore that she went with red lips that aren't extremely bold. It's nice to see something different from the usual bold red lip and black dress. Gorgeous Margot!

3.
I just can't with Ralph & Russo! They're in my lists every single time! Their dresses are the definition of class! The light pink color of this dress works wonders on Gwenyth Paltrow's skin! What you can't see in this picture is that the left shoulder part of the dress is flower-shaped which is just perfect! I love that she pulled back her hair so we can see that work of art! Nice pick Gwenyth!

2.
Elie, Elie, Elie... I think it's safe to call Elie Saab a fashion genius! Leave it to him to make Jennifer Lopez feel like a princess! I don't think a dress will ever match a skin tone as much as this one does! Even though it is baring, I didn't seem to mind cause it's too beautiful to care. It's practically dripping with sequins. AND THE FABRIC! Like I can't even touch it to see what it feels like but I can already imagine through the images and it's probably the softest thing to put on. I love the color, the design, the sequins, EVERYTHING! Elie Saab people, Elie Saab.

1.
Finally my favorite look from last night! Chrissy Teigen in none other than ZUHAIR MURAD! Zuhair Murad and Elie Saab are definitely competing in my head as to who's my favorite designer! Yep, both Lebanese! Not biased but come on practically every single celebrity has worn a dress designed by one of them at a certain point. Okay enough about my personal troubles in choosing a favorite designer! Look at this dress guys! It's deeply cut around the neck and has a daring thigh-high slit and they both accentuate Chrissy's body incredibly! The light ice-blue color of the dress creates a beautiful contrast with her dark-toned body! She looks like an ice princess meets mermaid. I love how the dress falls gently across her legs to end in a perfect little train. Zuhair Murad is magic.

Fifty Shades of Grey (the movie review post!)

Fading in, fading out, on the edge of paradise.

Hi everyone! Yesterday night I finally watched Fifty Shades of Grey! I was really looking forward to this considering I've almost finished reading the entire trilogy! I have a lot to say about the movie, you can ask Elena, my favorite person in the world/twin/bestie who took me to watch it, and she'd totally agree that I have a lot to say cause I wouldn't shut up about it over dinner after watching it. Alright so, to begin with, I actually liked the movie, although it got really mixed reviews. Dakota Johnson really surprised me because I didn't expect her to fit the part but she did..really well. As for Jamie Dornan, well he's Jamie Dornan, enough said. But to be honest I thought he overdid the Christian Grey smirk. But generally, he was intense like Christian Grey and he also portrayed Christian's weakness in a perfect way! My favorite part, well it's not really a part, but I really loved that they kept the e-mails and we could actually read them ourselves. While reading the books I really liked it when they e-mailed each other so that was a nice touch to the movie. Obviously I'm in LOVE with the soundtrack! The songs were perfect in every single scene, like how did they do it?! I have two favorite scenes; the first is when he takes her in the helicopter and we hear Ellie Goulding's "Love me like you do" playing in the background, and my second favorite scene was when she was perkily cooking breakfast and he came and startled her. Finally though, I'd like to mention that I liked the book better. I liked the characters more in the book and the plot was more detailed, but that's understandable cause they have to compress the whole book into a two hour movie.

I hope you guys somewhat agree with what I think and I'd love to know what you thought of the movie!

Laters baby.
This would be the billboard that I mentioned in my previous Fifty Shades post!!

meh, the storm

Hi everyone! So today I decided to share with you how I feel towards this ongoing storm that doesn't seem to have an end. This started weeks ago, back in Christmas break, the weather went crazy for a while and then it toned down, and then again. I  don't like this weather honestly and I'm pretty sure a lot of people agree with on this one. My worst experience with this storm was last week. I finished class at 4:50 and I had a class at 5. So I walked out of the building that my class was in and had to walk to another one which is actually quite far. I popped out of the building's entrance with my friend happy that it wasn't raining, and then, all of a sudden, it started raining like crazy! I did not see that coming! The rain literally hit me in the face cause the wind was blowing in my direction and it was raining so yeah you can imagine that. Walking with my transparent umbrella (thank God it's transparent), I held it in front of me and walked to my class looking through the umbrella. I reached the class wet from my knees to my feet. My jeans were glued to my skin lol. That was my worst storm experience so far. Thanks for the free shower mother nature.. wait showers are always free... I'm not alright lol! I'm standing on a bar thing in the business building at the moment looking out the window at the wet world outside, trying to type this out before a meeting! I hope everyone's keeping themselves warm and cozy in this weather.
Thought I'd give you a look at the world in my eyes right now!:)

Valentine Lips!

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I wrote a beauty post! As all of you know yesterday was Valentine's Day! But as some of you might not know, it was also my birthday! Completely irrelevant to this post, but I had to tell you guys cause I like the fact that I was born on this day lol. So I'm not one to wear red on Valentine's Day; it's a cliché I'd rather avoid. However, my look has to include something red so I went with red nails and lips! What I will be talking about on this post is the lipstick that I used along with the lip liner!
Ah Bourjois! The lipstick I'm currently in love with is the Rouge Edition "36 Pourpre Jazzy". It gives an incredibly burgundy color that lasts for so long! I washed it off last night a million times and still woke up with tinted lips! Wearing this lipstick color is a fashion statement on its own! I pair it with "09 Plum It Up!" lip liner! Their colors are identical to each other, you can't even tell that you're wearing lip liner and they blend in perfectly! These two Bourjois products are my Valentine/all-time must-haves! The Rouge Edition in general has to-die-for lipstick shades! Go and get your own!

Valentine's Day!!

An essay I wrote when I was 15 about Valentine's Day for English class! I sure had fun writing this! I hope you like it!! Enjoy Valentine's Day everyone!

It's A Boy Girl Thing

"Can you feel this magic in the air? It must've been the way you kissed me, fell in love when I saw you standing there, today was a fairytale!" The time of year when we listen to cheesy love songs and secretly pray to ourselves that some guy will finally make his move, you guessed it, it's Valentine's day.  Every single store we walk into is decorated in velvet red decorations and the gift shops are packed with guys and girls of all ages trying to find the perfect gift.  But of course, this is another celebration in which girls' and guys' gestures differ!  Between the gifts, the planning, and finding the perfect outfit for the perfect date,  gender plays its role in our lives again!

The first question that pops to our minds on Valentine's day is "What gift to buy?"  Now, girls never stop at asking themselves only one question.  After the basic question, there is always a long list of never-ending questions that nothing other than the female brain is able to think of.  Should we go over the top? Should it be expensive or should it be something heartfelt? Should it be something he needs or something he wants but probably won't buy for himself?  Will the type of gift portray what kind of relationship we have?  Girls over-analyze everything.  Here's how it usually goes when girls go out shopping for the so-called perfect present.  They walk into around thirty stores that have absolutely nothing in common. They check out cologne, t-shirts, video games, and everything else that the guy will probably love.  But no, of course, they choose the huge red teddy bear that has tacky written all over it at Thierry's Friends.  Really girls?  Do you honestly expect the guy to keep that on his bed so that every time his friends come over they'd have a great reason to make fun of him.  Now guys, on the other hand, usually take everything lightly.  They don't worry about price, thoughtfulness, or what the gift is going to mean to the girl.  They care about their personal pleasure.  They walk into the store with the pretty display.  They choose the most baring top, present it to the girl, and ask her with most innocent puppy-dog-eyed face ever to try it on.  They think that in that way, it's a win-win situation.  They got to see what their masculine brain desires, and the girl got a present. (My 18 year old self doesn’t really agree with this anymore, sorry for the hate my 15 year old self had boys!:P)

Now after the gift issue has been dealt with, there's the date planning.  If it's up to the girl to plan the date then it's probably going to be like a scene from her favorite romantic movie.  Girls know what the atmosphere should be like, what music should be playing, and what food they should eat.  Girls like it when everything feels like a fairytale.  They usually go for a moonlit picnic or a romantic stroll in the park then a candlelit dinner.  They prepare a mix CD of everything from Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love" to James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" and play it the background.  As for the food, anything oily or drippy might ruin their outfit, the horror!  They get something out of a foreign cooking site and mercilessly make the boy try it for the first time.  Now if it's up to the guy to plan it, things would go slightly differently.  No candlelight.  Who am I kidding? If the guy is planning, we'll have the girls say good-bye to everything they've ever watched and dreamt of.  The date is probably going to be the typical movies and dinner at the nearby burger joint, or a rock concert.  (this explains why many girls usually carry ear plugs in their bags.)  (My 18 year old self likes the rock concert idea lol!)

Finally comes choosing the outfit! Finding the perfect outfit is the ideal excuse for girls to go shopping!  They spend an entire day darting from one store to another in the mall, from Bebe to Armani Exchange, from Forever 21 to Topshop, they go through the racks of them all! After going through all the clothes store, HELLO SHOES! Although they probably have enough pairs to prevent their closet from closing properly already, they cannot, over their dead-bodies, go on the date in already-worn shoes!  They try on fifty different pairs of pumps, sandals, boots until they find the most beautiful heels that are 15 inches high.  It's painful to be beautiful, Amen to that.  Now that was concerning the shopping.  Now for the getting ready part, and boy do girls take time!  They do their hair which takes about an hour, then the make-up, and heaven forbid that the shade of pink blush isn't the baby pink she wanted or all hell will definitely break loose!  Then after having spent three hours getting ready, not to mention having the guy wait two of the hours downstairs with her father glaring at him and asking him all sorts of creepy questions, the girl finally struts down the stairs, and it turns out to be worth the wait.  While guys on the other hand, skip shopping and just find something in that huge pile of clean clothes stuffed on a chair in their room, it's usually only 2 feet from the pile of laundry so, well I'll just leave the rest to your imagination.  They shower, shave, and brush their hair for the first time in a year.   The entire process usually just takes about twenty minutes including the time where he spaces out from the fact that he has to get ready and ends up watching the awesome goal from last night’s game.

Roses are red, violets are blue, this is what really happens on Valentine's day, didn't see that coming, did you?
Batman lovin'

TIME FOR THE GRAMMYS!

Hi everyone! So the Grammys were last night and of course, as always, the first thing I did this morning was check out the celebrity looks! Surprisingly, the outfits didn't really impress me this year, I thought so many celebrities could be on the Worst Dressed list but I managed to do a top 5 favorite looks list! Let's get started then!

5.
Well I've always liked pant suits! Anna Kendrick looks gorgeous in this Band of Outsiders outfit and Jimmy Choo shoes! Talk about "all black everything"! This girl looks classy from head to toe! The side-swept tousled hair, the form-fitting suit, and the ultra feminine heels came together to create one of my favorite outfits from last night!

4.
I've followed these designers on Instagram for a very long time now! Jessie J looks dazzling in a Ralph and Russo black gown! The sheer fabric and the sequins look stunning on her! What I really love about this dress is that it has a little train, which I think looks absolutely gorgeous and quite different from what other celebrities wore! I also love her hair and natural makeup! It's such a pretty overall look that definitely deserves a spot in the best dressed list!

3.
Making her way into the third spot is Chrissy Teigen wearing a gorgeous white Emilio Pucci dress! This dress shows the right amount of skin in the right places! I love that it gives her a sultry look without ridding her of her extreme elegance! I also loved the clutch that she matched the dress with, because its colors go perfectly with her outfit! Her natural hairdo and minimal makeup are perfect for a flirty white dress like this one! Let's not forget her husband John Legend who wore a Dolce and Gabbana suit making them the most fashionable couple on the red carpet!

2.

Oh my oh mi-ley cyrus! YES GIRL! I hope this means the Miley I grew up loving is back! Miley Cyrus looked drop dead gorgeous in an Alexandre Vauthier black dress with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry! Even though a lot of skin is bared in this dress, I can't help but love it! It suits her so well! She does have a daring and edgy side but in this dress that side is mixed with the Miley we know and love! Classy look for Miley Cyrus!

1.
I swear I didn't mean for this to happen but Elie Saab made his way to my top favorite dress from last night! LOOK AT IT! It's gorgeous! Taylor Swift knows how to pick them! She looks incredible in this dress, and I mean who wouldn't?! The light blue on top gradually becomes darker then light again! And look at that structure! This isn't a dress, this is art! Hands down, favorite dress from last night! But I would totally go for another pair of shoes, purple.. I mean why? BEAUTIFUL THOUGH!!

There you have it guys! My favorite looks from last night! Award season isn't over, more to come!

Mornings

Mornings are
The cozy bed that you have to leave
The fuzzy slippers that you slip your feet into
The splash of cool water on your face
The mouth hanging open as you apply a bit of mascara
The rush of grabbing everything you need
The sound of your car engine roaring to life
The voices of the radio hosts wishing you a good morning
The sound of the music that puts you in a good mood
The entrance into Caribou
The smell of freshly made coffee
The first sip that warms you up inside
And you're ready to take on the world...

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY (PRE-MOVIE POST!!)

Hi everyone! Today on my way to the university, something made my day. I might sound shallow and some of you might judge me but seeing the Fifty shades of Grey billboard is what made my day. I, like most people out there, judged the books at first and complained about how they're overrrated. When the trailer of the movie came out, I, along with probably everyone else, hurried to watch it. Surpsingly enough, I didn't seem to mind it at all, in fact, I decided to start reading the books. Shocking isn't it? I usually like to read books before they turn them into a movie so this was the case here as well. I actually still remember the awkwardness of buying the book. I went alone, lol obviously. Then after having searched a few shelves for it, I finally found one copy. I picked it up and went to the cashier completely owning it although I was kind of shy about it. Got to the clerk, confidently placed the book on the counter, thanked God it's a girl, and took out my wallet. Just when I thought things were over and soon enough I'd have the book in my possession, the woman, while waiting for the receipt to come out, asked me if it's my first time reading a book like this. First time.. alright. I told her that it is and we talked about the book for a little while. She actually happened to be really nice and told me I'd, soon enough, be buying the sequel. Yep, a few weeks later I was on my way to buy not only the second but also the third.
Even though it's an international best-seller, I still know that there are many people who think the books are stupid. I beg to differ. I actually decided not to judge the book by its cover.. um literally.. and it turned out to be pretty good. The storyline is interesting, something new nothing like I've seen before. I won't actually talk about it because I'm saving my actual review for when the movie comes out, and I'm also going to do a book/movie comparison!
IT'S COMING OUT IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS YAY! Go watch it guys, and if you hate it then we'll just be discussing that in my next Fifty Shades post!
Please leave a comment about your opinion regarding the books or anything related!

Courage the Cowardly Dog.. Really a kid show?

Hi everyone! Recently I saw a video about someone's top 10 creepiest Courage the Cowardly Dog episodes which reminded me of the show. Watching some scenes again made me realize why my parents would freak out every time they catch me watching it. As creepy as it is, I used to eagerly watch the show and anticipate the next episode. Looking back at the episodes now makes me wonder, how I, along with most of other children, used to watch this show. IT'S SO CREEPY! I'm going to count down my top 5 creepiest episodes and tell you why I'm seriously questioning how this is a kid show!

5.
Does anyone else remember this episode? Muriel gets possessed by a demon, hence the name of the episode "Demon in the Mattress" and she turns into, well, that. Her voice becomes scary, she turns her head around 180 degrees, and she looks frightening with that red hair and scary face expression. How did child me react to demon possession? I can't even begin to imagine, but all I know is that I really enjoyed the creep factor of this show.

4.
OH MY FREAKY FRED! Just seeing his face again made the word "naughty" pop into my head. This guy is Muriel's cousin or something, and he pays them a visit in one of the episodes in which he shaves Courage's fur. His weird thoughts that we would see while he shaves Courage and the way he always rhymed when he talked in addition to him constantly saying "naughty", give me the chills! I mean just look at that smile *shudder*.

3.
Out of all the episodes ever, I think everyone remembers this one; I've talked about this episode with my friends a good number of times. We would always end up saying "return the slab" in our creepiest voices possible. This episode made its mark in every single kid's memory because it was downright scary. The graphics were terrifying cause they don't look realistic at all which made the entire scene even creepier. I can still close my eyes and clearly see this dude moving his arms and saying "return the slab" as if I were watching it right now.

2.
Sorry for the bad quality picture guys but I couldn't find anything better and I just had to include this episode in my top 5. Muriel and Eustace are really DEAD here and Courage is controlling them like puppets making them act as if they aren't dead. OH MY GOD! Am I the only one who thinks that is beyond creepy?! I actually remember feeling a pang of loneliness while watching this scene cause Courage is alone in the middle of the nowhere with two dead people whom he so desperately wants to stay alive. I don't think I'm the only kid who ran to their parents when this episode finished, lol!

1.
This might not be everyone's creepiest episode but it is to me! In this episode a so-called Queen of the Black Puddle comes out of her puddle and tries to reel Eustace into her puddle. She comes up into their room and takes him to the puddle, in which she dances for him keeping him entertained then turns into a monster and tries to eat him. Of course, Courage once again saves his family. But the scenes were terrifying, her outer appearance is actually quite feminine aside from you know the ultimate CRAZY WITCHY LOOK, which makes it even more frightening. In the back of my head, I remember that Courage makes her get sucked into their bathtub drain but I couldn't find this scene on Youtube, although I really wanted to discuss that cause it was my creepiest scene in the entire episode. If anyone remembers this, or has a link to a site where the clip is available please tell me!

Now that I counted down my top 5 creepy Courage the Cowardly Dog episodes, I can say that I think, as children, we really enjoyed the adrenaline rush we felt watching this. It's scary, it's creepy, but it's a kid show and we were allowed to watch it. There were a lot of scary movies at the time that we couldn't watch cause they were too graphic for kids, and the fact that the same ideas of these movies were all concentrated into a children's show made us feel excited to watch it! I hope you liked my post and I really hope it made you check your own creepiest episodes on Youtube! Keep it creepy everyone, lol!
