A Love Affair With...

I realized that all my blog posts are either about relationships or things that I enjoy such as music and movies. I seem to have missed writing a blog about something that means a lot to me. Something that is part of my (almost) daily life. What is this thing that I am talking about?

FRIES

So what's my deal with fries? Almost everyone who really knows me knows about this new-found obsession. I mean I've always loved fries, but recently it's as if I developed a relationship with fries, lol. Let's go into detail about this fries obsession. Fries aren't just thin strips of fried potato. No no, fries can be served with cheddar cheese and then dipped in sour cream, fries can be re-imagined and made into potato dippers that you can have with honey mustard, fries can be included in your Taouk sandwich for a lazy Sunday lunch. Apart from fries being served in many ways, they're so easy to eat. You can take fries to-go from McDonald's and munch on them in the car, you can walk around and eat a box of fries, and of course you can sit in the comfort of a restaurant or at home and eat your fries. As you can see, fries are an essential part of a person's diet.

Some people think the best thing that is made out of potatoes is vodka, I'm pretty sure it's fries. Fries are tangible happiness.

So yeah I basically just wrote a post about my love for fries.

Salon Du Chocolat - Biel

This weekend is the annual Beirut Cooking Festival and Salon Du Chocolat! My post is specifically about the Salon Du Chocolat! IT WAS CHOCOLATE HEAVEN! I mean who wouldn't want to go somewhere where there's literally chocolate everywhere you look? From chocolate dresses to a merry-go-round cake to endless chocolate goodness! You'd probably leave the place with a sugar rush due to the amount of samples and goodies the different kiosks offer but it's all worth it! My personal favorite treat was the chocolate shot offered by The Muse Concept! It was so yummy and their stand was definitely one of a kind (you'll soon find out why! lol) I'll leave you with pictures from yesterday!

Waking Up This Morning was like...

So yesterday was the usual bright sunny day, extremely hot weather, and basically just the continuation of our never-ending summer season. We literally could not wait until it finally rained because we're just too bored of the heat. What we didn't expect was the complete 180 the weather did today. This is how my morning went ...

1. I heard weird noises and the sound of wind but I didn't really get what's happening especially that I was still half asleep.

2. My shutters were closed so I couldn't see anything, I didn't give it much thought and well this happened... (minus the birds)

3. A few minutes later I checked the time and realized it's a biiiit to dark for it to be 9:30 AM and I started getting suspicious (I usually get a bit of light in the room even if my shutters are down)

4. As the lazy person that I am, I thought it would be easier to text my friend George (finally right?) and ask about the weather instead of checking myself

5. Turns out he hasn't checked either, so I got out of bed to find out what it's like outside...

6. LOL JK give me summer back

Not a Game of Thrones fan but...

I admit I haven't given Game of Thrones a fair chance, I mean I only watched the first episode and gave up since. I just don't have the patience to start a series at the moment and I feel like GOT isn't my cup of tea. HOWEVER! I stumbled upon this video while I was on YouTube. It showed up in my autoplay while I was listening to another Boyce Avenue cover, and now it's the only thing I've been listening to for the past hour while I'm studying. Boyce Avenue generally have amazing covers and I've been listening to their music for years now. I think I've written about them before.. maybe.. I'm not sure I'm going to check, lol! Anyway! Give this a listen whether you're a GOT fan or not! I think this cover is amazing so I might just watch the show because I love the music so much but in general it's a real masterpiece honestly! AND IT'S VERY AUTUMNAL! I'm obsessed with everything autumnal during this time of year, lol!

MOVIE NIGHT!

Alright so, it's autumn again and some people like staying in when the weather gets chilly. A lot of us sometimes don't have the time to go the movie theater or we simply don't realize that a really good movie is out SO I'm here to tally up some of my favorite movies! I think the next few months are the best for catching up on a lot of movies that you missed out on throughout the year. Personally, I like having one night in the weekend where I just chill at home and watch a movie ESPECIALLY if it's raining! I hope this list helps and to all you DVD stores out there, you're welcome! :P (The movies are in random order)

1. Spy

A funny action comedy starring my favorite actor Jason Statham! I honestly loved this movie and I actually laughed which I find shocking cause recently most comedies have been really lame. The cast is perfect for this movie and I finally started liking Melissa McCarthy after watching it!

2. Cinderella

Cinderella happens to be my favorite Disney fairytale alongside Beauty and the Beast, so you can imagine how excited I was when it came out. The costumes and the setting were perfect in this movie. Everything was perfect! Prince Charming was so perfectly cast, THANK GOD, lol! Perfect for a girls' night in!

3. The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

I discovered Henry Cavill when I was like nine years old cause he acted in a Red Riding Hood movie and I thought he was really cute at the time. Yep, even at 9 years old guys, lol. Anyway this movie was really good! Another action comedy to make the list and for good reason!

4. Inside Out

One of the cutest animated movies ever! I enjoyed every second of this movie and I was literally beyond upset when it ended! I'm a fan of animated movies in general so I went to the movie theater already excited about this, and it even exceeded my expectations!

5. Fifty Shades of Grey

So it wasn't the best movie ever but it's one of those movies that you just watch. You just do it. I mean almost everyone has seen this movie by now but if you're still one of those people who are refusing to watch it or who think it's too stupid. Just pop it into your DVD player on a Friday night and watch it. It's entertaining and definitely different than a lot of movies, lol.

6. Whiplash

I think I might have written about this movie before. Anyway! It's one of my favorites this year. It stars Miles Teller and it's basically about his life as an aspiring drummer! It's a really good choice for anyone who's either into drumming or into music in general!

7. Hotel Transylvania 2

I love animations.. and monsters? This movie is super cute! Honestly the humor found in this animation is much better than some comedies with like actual people. WATCH THE FIRST ONE TOO! But I'm going to go ahead and assume that everyone already did because it was AWESOME!

That's it for now! I'll be back with more in another movie post!

My UPDATED Daily Makeup Routine

Hi guys! Last time I did this post was last January so things have definitely changed! Most things are gone but there's two products that are still there! The amount of products I use has actually increased but I sometimes skip a couple things if I'm in a rush to go to my university.

Alright so let me start with the order of how I apply things! Before I start anything I usually apply a moisturizer/acne creme for my blemishes that seem to linger even though I'm almost 20! Tough life right? lol. After that, I use the concealer that's on the top right called the MaxFactor Pan Stik in the color "Bisque Ivory 96". This product was mentioned in my last daily makeup routine post but at the time I used it for both my eyes and covering spots, however now I only use it to cover any spots or things I want to hide! Next up, I use my L'Oreal Infallible concealer in the shade "02 Porcelain" to cover up the dark circles under my eyes, and I add a bit on my eyelids so that it's all basically the same color. After that, I use the L'Oreal Infallible foundation in the shade "140 Golden Beige" and I go over my entire face and neck to achieve a perfect homogeneous look. Next, I go over my entire face with L'Oreal Infallible powder in the shade "123 Warm Vanilla". It's a really light powder, almost transparent, and I basically use it to keep everything in place for a long day. For it I use the Victoria's Secret powder brush! Now that the face is basically done, I move on to mascara. The mascara I'm currently using I have already mentioned on my blog and it is the Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme! It's literally perfect and it doesn't smudge all day even in the extreme heat conditions we had to go through the past month. I also use the Colossal Kajal Henna Eyeliner from Maybelline for my waterline. I avoid using liquid eyeliner everyday because it tends to smudge and I don't really feel like winged eyeliner is my go-to everyday look. After I'm done coloring, lol, I add a little highlighter under my eyes to make them glow. The highlighter I'm using is the DreamLumiTouch from Maybelline in the shade "01 Ivory". A new addition to my makeup collection is the Maybelline BrowSatin eyebrow pencil in the shade Medium Brown. I don't think I'll be using this every single day because, well, effort. But on those days where I have an extra five minutes before I leave the house then I'd probably give my eyebrows a little kick. ALRIGHT ALMOST DONE!:P I now apply the blush that I use which is the "06 Samoa Filon Dore". Finally I use the Maybelline BabyLips to moisturize my lips, and then I apply the 105 Kate Moss Rimmel lipstick which has been my all-time favorite lipstick for the past year.

Zuhair Murad for the NYC Ballet!

Zuhair Murad is, hands down, my favorite fashion designer. His dresses are honestly breathtaking and they actually have a magical sense to them. It makes me very proud that such an incredible designer is Lebanese, something that everyone in this country should be very happy about. We all know that Zuhair Murad dresses a ton of celebrities worldwide, but recently he also designed outfits for the NYC Ballet. LIKE WHAT! Our own Zuhair Murad is now part of the costume designers for the NYC Ballet?! That's insane! Among the outfits are the following:

How amazing are those designs though? I'm sure everyone would want to take a closer look so here goes!
I can't even. Yes I just said that. I literally just want to be ballerina so I can be dressed in that. She looks like a ballerina meets ice princess meets fairy! I absolutely love this look and the color is just so on point!
Finally, Murad also dressed Sarah Jessica Parker in an amazing dress from his Fall 2015 Haute Couture line. She actually sent him a hand-written letter asking him if he would want to dress her for this event. The one and only SJP who is also a co-chairman for the NYC Ballet Gala was dressed by none other than Zuhair Murad!
Here's a picture of the two of them at the event!

How beautiful is her dress?! LEBANESE PRIDE RIGHT HERE LADIES AND GENTS!
