I saw a post recently on social media that pissed me off regarding this so it triggered writing something about it :)

It's Not A Joke
"Oh my God I totally have OCD!" Something people say whenever they fix a picture frame that's slightly tilted or when they want to make up an excuse for their behavior. It's actually, believe it or not, not cool to have OCD. No you didn't just climb up the social ladder by making fun of your actions and blaming them on OCD. Cause guess what?! It's not OCD! You're not kept up all night obsessing over something and insomnia takes over because you can't shut your head up. You're not always distracted by the one thing that's on your mind and even the TV becomes just background noise for you because you're so wrapped up in your thoughts that nothing else matters. OCD is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, trying to act cute by saying you have it isn't okay. No one jokes about having a physical disorder cause it's not funny! There's nothing humorous about it and neither is there anything cool about "having" a mental disorder. So basically, to everyone throwing around "Blame it on my OCD" or "Omg I just had an anxiety attack" when really you just panicked for one second like any other person would, realize that some people out there are actually struggling because of these disorders.

Mr. Right?
As girls, we tend to sculpt the guy we want to find. We mold him, we lay out all the characteristics and personality traits we're looking for and then go on a search until someone matches our wishes. Any girl would understand what I'm talking about right now. We've spent hours discussing what we "want in a guy" with our girl friends expecting to actually find the person we're creating in our minds. "He has to have dark hair, he has to play an instrument, colored eyes are a definite must!" These are all things we've repeated to ourselves and our friends for years. Forget about his looks for a second, we also tend to think we know how we want him to act and behave. I mean sure some things are a standard must like a sense of humor and life-loving attitude but we definitely go overboard trying to analyze what we want in a guy. I mean, does he really have to enjoy poetry and appreciate art?
This whole Mr. Right concept is usually a complete fail. We end up falling in love with people who almost don't match any of the criteria we perfectly and elaborately placed in finding the perfect man. I personally find it amazing, you end up surprising yourself with who you fall in love with. I mean, what's the fun in just finding the person that fits the profile you wanted? It's love, not a CV screening. Anyway, it never really works to fall for the person you put so much effort into creating, you end up falling for someone much better for you. So quit putting conditions on the people you'd want to fall for, and just explore different types of people, you're going to have the best love story ever if you just let yourself fall for whatever your heart ends up wanting.
This is definitely one of my mushier posts but I'm finding it to be really true from what I see around me.

Being 20
To everyone out there who just hit their 20s, hear me out on this one.
20s might sound like they come with more responsibilities and burdens that you didn't worry about before but they are probably going to be some of your best years. I am not speaking out of experience considering I turned 20 around six months ago but so far it's been interesting. I've learned a few things in these 6 months that I want to share with everyone.
1. Be spontaneous. Stop worrying about your plans and what should be done, just do. There's nothing more fun than the days that just flow in a way that you did not expect at all. Let them be.
2. Get out of your comfort zone. Yes your comfort zone is safe and it's so easy to hide in it and never do anything reckless but what's the point? If you get nervous socializing, force yourself to do it. If you hate going to new places, it's okay, discover. Life will become much more fun when you leave your bubble even though it might sound like the worst idea.
3. Meet new people. Honestly, there's nothing nicer than having close friends, but there's also something about seeing new faces, learning things from different types of people, having various types of conversations that you can only have with different groups. Branch out.
4. Dance. Yes you read right. One of my pieces of advice is to dance. Let loose, listen to music, have fun. Dancing might be the most liberating physical activity anyone can do. For a few hours, you don't have to talk about much, you can forget yourself, and just enjoy someone's company.
5. Feel. Allow yourself to feel things you know you shouldn't. Don't be afraid to fall, don't be afraid to give more than you promised yourself to give. It's alright to let people in more than you normally would.
6. Take risks. What does that even mean right? It means that you shouldn't always do things by the book. It's fine to let things get a little out of hand sometimes, not everything should be aligned in life. Stay in control of what's going on, but don't be a control freak.
7. Change something. I don't know what but change something in your appearance, find something new you'd like to try. It doesn't have to be massive honestly, it can be getting highlights, new makeup routine, getting a buzzcut, shaving off your beard, I don't know, but something new and fresh will make you feel like a new person.
8. Eat. I don't think I say "I'm hungry" enough times in one day. I know at this age we should start watching our weights but indulge in something delicious every once in a while. Of course you want fries with that, so get them. Not everyday, sure, but satisfy your guilty pleasures every once in a while.
9. Drive to new places. There's honestly no better feeling than seeing something for the first time. Don't know what to do on a Saturday? Get in the car with your friends and go places. Road trips with music (and ice-cream breaks) might be one of the best ideas.
10. Be 20. Allow yourself to feel young. Make the most of every moment, the memories you're making are going to make good stories years from now.

For Every Bottled-Up Emotion
We live in a time where people choose their pride over telling other people how they really feel. (Maybe it's always been this way but yeah). Thing is, what's so wrong with telling someone how you feel about them? Just say it. Get it out in the open. If you've been madly obsessing over a guy for ages just tell him, what's the worst that can happen? He'll never talk to you again? Fine so be it it's not like things are making you any happier now. Are you mad at someone and just bottling it up because you don't want them to think you care? Come on! You care, you obviously care, you care so much it's keeping you up at night and leaving a trace of sadness in your every facial expression for days, months even. See I know that confrontation can blow up in your face sometimes but it'll always be better than having endless made-up conversations in your head that you will never have out loud because of all the what-ifs that are shutting you up completely. I tend not to follow this advice because I'm just as terrified of confrontation as anyone else is AND sometimes it does blow up in my face. Despite that I am usually a confrontational person especially when I'm upset or mad because I can't handle just being mad by myself while the other person is going about their life with no clue how hurt I am. I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt and believe that if they're aware how hurt they made me it would make them want to talk it out. Unfortunately, things don't always go as planned. Confrontation might lead to a huge fight, it might end friendships, cause breakups, etc... That's the thing with human relationships, you can never really control how the other person feels no matter how hard you try to make them feel the way you want them to. It sucks really. But always try to talk things out with people, from the guy who sits next to you in class and you just can't help but slowly fall in love with or the girl who made you so angry you want to punch a wall.
Don't stay up at night thinking about him, and definitely don't punch a wall, just talk.

Me Before You
Hey guys! So basically I haven't read a really good book that I can't put down for almost four years. However, a couple weeks ago I got my hands on Me Before You and it is now pretty much my favorite book. It's so well-written, it's compelling, and it's a definite tear jerker. I've never cried while reading a book, I used to think that's impossible. While reading this book, I smiled, I teared up, I cried, it's an emotional roller coaster and it really makes you feel engaged in the story line. I read it mainly because I watched the trailer a few weeks ago and was really curious to read the book before the movie comes out, and that was such a good decision. I finished the book a few days ago and now I'm anxiously waiting for it to be released in theaters. Everyone should go watch the movie, I'd say everyone should read the book but considering the movie's going to be released next Thursday, just go watch the movie. You're going to have an amazing couple hours and honestly you're never going to want the movie to end. I know I didn't want the book to end. Enjoy it you guys, this might just be the best movie of the year.

Satisfy Your Inner Frenchie
Hi guys! I've been obsessing over french music for quite a while now and I never would have thought I'd actually like it. There are many french artists with amazing music and are definitely worth giving a shot. I'm not huge on old french music although I basically grew up listening to it with my mom and my aunt so I have a couple favorites but the music I'm listening to now is basically the new french music. Check out the artists in this post and tell me what you think!

Met Gala 2016: Best Looks!
Hey guys! It's that time of the year again when everyone is hyped up for the Met Gala including us girls across the world who are just waiting to see what all the celebrities are going to be wearing! I went through almost all the dresses that were worn last night and made my personal favorites so let's get to it!
Jessica Hart
Jessica Hart stunned in this Azzedine Alaia ensemble! I absolutely love the color of this and sheerness of it although it barely shows any skin, just a tiny bit at the midriff which is actually very attractive. She kept the makeup simple and opted for a black clutch that doesn't take away from the outfit! I would totally love to wear this!
Kendall Jenner
I am not a girl who usually likes color, if you open up my closet you'd probably see a ton of whites, grays, blacks, navy, etc... and you'd be shocked if you got to see color. However, I adore this Atelier Versace dress on Kendall! It has such a feel-good spring vibe to it and it honestly looks nothing like all the other gowns that were worn last night! I absolutely loved her makeup as well and the picture of her face is already saved on my phone for when I want to get my makeup done somewhere so they can go for the similar natural look!
Emily Ratajkowski
Black and white! My favorite! Emily is undeniably beautiful and this Prabal Gurung dress added to her beauty! I love the contrast between the dress and her tan skin and I adore that she pulled her hair back even though the dress isn't that detailed for her to have to lift her hair up but it gives her entire look a sleek vibe!
Bee Shaffer
I'm usually not a fan of floral dresses, at all. However, this Alexander McQueen dress is adorable! It makes Bee look like a princess! Her hairband with the up-do probably wins her the title of classiest look for the night!
Claire Danes
Claire Danes won the Met Gala last night! Honestly, hands down, the most creative and breath-taking dress of the night! The internet fell in love with this dress and it's basically headlining everything! This epic Cinderella dress was designed by Zac Posen and I've never been jealous of a girl in my life as much as I'm jealous of Claire right now!
Nicki Minaj
What is this? Why? This is not one of the best looks obviously but I had to talk about it because I didn't like it at all. She looks chained up and about to enter Christian Grey's red room of pain, lol. I honestly don't know what she was trying to go for with this look and I hope her next appearance will be in something better.

Typewriter Series: Moon
So I found this new app called Hanx Typewriter on the Apple Store and I fell in love with it. Tom Hanks created this app and I'm a huge fan of most of his movies! For all people who like writing, this app gives you the vibe of using a typewriter without actually having one!

Apply Makeup on the Mirror with Bad Lighting
The mirror with bad lighting
So the title of this post might actually sound like the worst advice ever. It's not when you don't take it totally literally. When you apply makeup on that mirror in the corner of your room where the lighting isn't exactly perfect, you fail to see some flaws that you would have noticed in that awesome mirror with amazing bright lighting. These flaws, though, are only seen by you, your scrutinizing eyes point out every single flaw in you, like that acne mark that is barely visible or those dark circles that are actually fading away but you pick on them anyway. Guess what? People see you in amazing lighting the same way you see yourself in bad lighting. People don't notice those tiny problems that you see in yourself because you are your biggest criticizer.
The mirror with bad lighting will make you less hard on yourself which is something you actually deserve. Stop picking at every tiny little detail about yourself that you don't like and embrace yourself as whole. I noticed this morning when I was doing my makeup on the "bad" mirror that I'm not taking forever to apply foundation in order to perfectly master the art of clear skin, to hell with that, I look just fine.
Obviously I'm not telling you to do your makeup on that mirror (although it does actually speed things up since you don't notice some things that you would have otherwise found disastrous), all I'm saying is that people and girls specifically should be easier on themselves.

WINTER FAVORITES!
Hi guys, tomorrow is (finally) the first day of Spring! Spring has great vibes to it so I'm honestly totally excited to leave my sweaters and hoodies behind and start embracing the warmer weather that's coming our way! Before I start enjoying Spring, I thought I'd blog about some beauty products that I used a lot this winter! Let's get to it!
1. This product is a life-saver! If you buy this eye cream you can literally kiss your dark circles goodbye! I personally do have dark circles under my eyes and I've been trying to find a way to get rid of them as much as I can but getting enough sleep is basically impossible especially during uni so Sesha saved me! In a matter of a couple weeks my dark circles were basically gone!
2. During winter skin gets really dry and it's a hassle to keep it moisturized. I really don't like applying things on my face especially before I go to bed cause I'd be rushing to get as many hours of sleep as possible, lol. Recently, though, I've been embracing my night cream routine and this product is included in it. The La Roche-Posay moisturizer did my skin wonders this winter, it went from an almost-disaster to beyond soft and smooth. Everyone should try this one out and it definitely should be used all year round not just winter.
3. So this isn't really a new product or anything but I've always been a loyal Maybelline mascara user so I never really thought of trying out something else until I got my hands on the Benefit They're Real mascara. It's such a good product guys, I literally insist that anyone who wants to sort of spend more than they usually would on a mascara to use this splurge on this one. Ever since I got it, I ditched half the products I used to use in my daily makeup routine because I honestly didn't need anything to complete my look except this!
4. I used to be a stubborn girl who would refuse to buy or use an eyelash curler. I fully believed that I don't need one and my eyelashes are naturally as nice as they can be. I don't know what happened one day when I was driving back from uni, I stopped at the drugstore near my house and got one. I wanted to see what the magic behind eyelash curlers is. It is what it is, magic. My eyelashes have never felt this long or thick or... curled. If you're like me, too stubborn to give this product a shot, please take my word for it and try it out.
5. THE BEST CONCEALER EVER! I've changed concealers so many times during my life and I literally never bought the same concealer twice cause I would never like any of them on my eyes, except this one. The L'Oreal True Match concealer (which I use in the shade 4) is the best thing that's ever happened to my eyes. It gives them a natural glow and it covers up insanely well!
6. When I got my hands on this palette, I literally felt like a little kid in a candy store. "oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy", lol. The shades in this palette are perfect for any time of day, the brush that comes with it is so soft and blends really well, and the colors are extremely pigmented! Whenever anyone gets the chance to get this palette, please please do.
7. My absolute favorite winter shade. I know what you're thinking, this doesn't really look like a "winter" shade, you'd normally expect burgundy or something. Considering I go to uni literally every single day, if i put on a burgundy lipstick I would look completely out of place. The MAC Twig satin lipstick was my go-to lipstick this winter, its pink shade is so refreshing and it literally never wears off all day. For spring/summer I will probably opt for a more nude shade so I'll definitely post what it turns out to be!
8. Last but not least, my go-to scent for the season! This Vanilla Lace Victoria's Secret body mist is the best winter scent anyone can possibly think of. It has a mix of vanilla and musk so it has this warm vibe to it. Elena got this for me and I've been using it ever since!

The 1975
Hi guys! I'm currently supposed to be studying for a midterm, and my friend is looking curiously at my screen to know why I'm still stalling studying, and now he's reading what I'm writing. Well, that kind of creates a scene for you doesn't it? Anyway, I thought I should share what I've been listening to throughout the midterms this year. Last time I did a similar post was last spring semester, and well here we are again! This year has a different feel to it, so obviously the music has changed too. This post isn't a list of songs, it's more like praising a band that I love so much at the moment. The 1975. Their songs probably have the best lyrics ever, they have a different vibe than what we're listening to on the radio, and I love it. I'm going to include links to three of my current favorite songs so give them a listen and I can guarantee that you will keep the autoplay on Youtube going for hours.

Unrequited Love
So what is unrequited love? It's basically when you've fallen head over heels for someone who simply doesn't share the same intense emotions. You find yourself shamelessly listening to sad heartbreaking songs at 1 AM wondering what on earth they're doing and when you do go out you hope that maybe this one time you'll run into him/her and they'll see you out and having a good time and they'll finally fall in love with your smile. But you and I probably know that that's not the case. However, though, everyone has to experience heartache. We just have to. We long for pain, it's a consuming feeling and we like it even though we know we shouldn't. It's basically like if you're watching a romantic movie and it's constantly positive and happy, you get bored and turn it off. Loving someone who doesn't love you back is a necessary experience for everyone, sometimes there are things that you don't share, you just give, and unfortunately guys this is one of them. I know people going through this are probably wondering "well when am i gonna get my happy ending?", but remember you are the same people who want the movie to drag on just a bit more so that the happy ending doesn't come too soon.

Relationship Parasites 2.0
HEY GUYS! Alright so, my first Relationship Parasites got a ton of views and I'm so happy about that which is why I decided to write another one! To make things more interesting this time, I'm going to label those relationship parasites that lurk around happy couples.
The Needy Best Friend: We've seen her kind. She's the boyfriend's best friend and she's always there to give him advice regarding his relationship. She pretends to be happy for him and supports his relationship but maliciously tries to end it. When the couple is out together, she doesn't stop herself from texting the guy multiple times asking where he is and that she needs to talk about her own guy problems even though it's a desperate attempt to steer his attention away from his girlfriend. This type of parasite exists everywhere and the only way to get rid of her is by fully ignoring her.

The Girl That Never Got Over Him: Oh this one. This one doesn't pretend to be happy for you, no no, she will shoot death glares your way whenever she gets the chance, and boy do her chances seem to be many. She's constantly trying to flirt with your boyfriend attempting to possibly win him over. SWEETHEART IF YOU DIDN'T WIN HIM OVER THE FIRST TIME, YOU WON'T NOW THAT HE'S WITH SOMEONE. The fix? Be as friendly as possible to her, her guilt conscience would eat her up when she's trying to ruin a nice person's life.
The One That Shares All Of His Interests: This girl is a tough one. She's into sports and other stuff that he enjoys that you don't really. He really likes her company and considers her a buddy. Although you actually shouldn't be bothered by this girl because he doesn't seem to like her that way at all, she annoys you a lot. Why does she care about the things he's into and you can't get yourself to? What to do? Either let it go, let the guy have some fun, or try to join in their conversations every once in a while and at least pretend to be interested for half an hour (painful I know lol).
The Ex-Girlfriend: Remind me again why this girl is causing you trouble? If she's harming your relationship, he should shut her out. Sometimes exes stay friends after a breakup which is fine on condition that she doesn't try to sabotage any new attempt he has at romance. You don't have to deal with this one at all and yeah the fix is to just tell her to buzz off.
The Guys Who Complain That He Just Isn't The Same Anymore: I get it, I swear, sometimes guys get very involved in a relationship and kind of forget their "bros" but don't blame the guy for this. In the beginning of a relationship, he's bound to kind of get sucked into this whole dating world, and sure if this drags on you should talk to him, but don't be aggressive, and under to no circumstances trash the girl for this. It's totally his fault if he's pushing you away; just sort things out together and keep her out of it.

So It's Valentine's Day
Each year during this time I either see happy couples or hear people complaining. Even couples sometimes complain about Valentine's day and that is something I really don't understand.
So why all the hate on this one day? Single people hate it because they can't spend it with someone special and couples sometimes don't enjoy it because either he didn't take her to the fancy place she wanted or he didn't get her the gift she's been hinting at for ages.
I have my own take on this day. Sure, first and foremost I don't really care about it cause it's my birthday so who cares? lol... but actually I love Valentine's day, always have. You go out, everything's decorated in red, restaurants have a special Valentine menu, and the dessert possibilities are ENDLESS! A few years ago, I had a Valentine special ice-cream thing from Haagen-Dazs with my friend and yeah it was great, I loved it, and I had a great time.
I'm not arguing, it's definitely better to be sharing this day with a boyfriend or girlfriend, but don't let that bring your mood down! Go out with your squad, enjoy that special menu and go watch a chick flick! (Sidenote: How To Be Single and The Choice are both in theaters right now, perfect chick flicks, so really go watch a movie!) And for the single guys out there, definitely also enjoy that special menu or ditch it and go have open beer and wings then hit the gym or play a football game or something. Valentine's day in my opinion isn't just for happy couples, it's for everyone who loves someone, be it a best friend, your squad, or just about anyone. Don't let the labels define who you get to spend that day with! If you're a girl and have a best guy friend and you're both single, sure go somewhere together, and if the waiters ask you if you're a couple, SAY YES YOU'LL GET FREE DESSERT, lol!
I guess all I'm trying to say is everyone should have a good time on Valentine's day and no one should sulk at home! Enjoy the 14th of February guys!
XOXO!

SAG AWARDS 2016: BEST DRESSED
So last night was the 22nd SAG Awards and obviously as much as I care about the nominations I basically tune in to watch the red carpet so I can see what everyone is wearing. There were some amazing dresses last night and now's the time to list some of my favorites!
Anna Faris
Red is my absolute favorite color for dresses. Every time I'm out shopping I either get drawn to red or black dresses so obviously this dress directly caught my eye!
Anna Faris stunned in a Naeem Khan dress. I adore how this dress is so elegant and classy covering up her entire torso, and then you see the daring slit on her left leg. I normally don't like carrying a bag that's the same color as the dress but in some way Anna made it work! The shoes she went with are simple Stuart Wietzman heels that don't take away from the beauty of her dress!
Jessica Pare
Just like I mentioned above, I LOVE BLACK DRESSES! I think I'm guilty for having too many of them! Every time I have a dressy occasion, I go to the mall with the mindset that I will not buy another black dress, but I usually always end up with one! Jessica Pare took elegance to a whole new level with her Kaufmanfranco dress (I had to double check the spelling on that one, lol!) I love dresses that are all about designing by using the fabric instead of just throwing sequins on them to make them look fancy. Jessica also wore Jimmy Choo shoes and a Jimmy Choo bag!
Sofia Vergara
FOR THE LOVE OF PINK! Recently I've been drawn to anything pink. I saw a pink leather agenda a few days ago and I instantly fell in love until Elena had to basically walk me away from it. For this reason, I'm obviously in love with this custom Vera Wang dress that Sofia glowed in! It's perfect for her skin tone and hair color and perfectly accentuates her drop-dead gorgeous body! Definitely one of my favorite looks this year!
Kate Winslet
I must say I was biased when I picked this dress as one of the best because the color of this dress matches the color of a jumpsuit I recently wore so I directly got attracted to it! This is a custom Giorgio Armani dress paired with Jimmy Choo shoes and Neil Lane jewelry! I absolute love all of Kate Winslet's looks because they define class!
Rachel McAdams
Elie, Elie, Elie! Elie Saab is definitely one of the best fashion designers of all time! Look at this dress or should I say masterpiece! It hugs Rachel's body and then extends to form a beautiful train. She wore Brian Atwood shoes with this dress and accessorized with Lorraine Shwartz jewelry! This is a dress I'm honestly proud to say is created by a Lebanese designer!
Maria Tomei
An amazing movie and a gorgeous dress! Maria starred in The Big Short this year which was one of the movies I really enjoyed. Not only did she act in an incredible movie but she also wore a dress by Zuhair Murad! More Lebanese pride people! This dress is honestly perfect on Maria Tomei (any dress done by Zuhair Murad is perfect on anyone though). The color is so different from what we usually see and the sequins are done so tastefully! Excellent choice Marisa!
Rooney Mara
What could be better than a simple black Valentino dress?! NOTHING! If I was invited to an award show (yeah right) this would be the dress I would go with! It's so simple and black (my favorite dress color) and it works amazingly with her pale white skin! Perfectly elegant look for Mara!
Jacob Tremblay
This little guy had to make his way to my best dressed list cause he looked adorable in his suit! What's cuter than a young boy attending a fancy award show in an even fancier suit?! His hands were constantly tucked in his pockets for the entire red carpet appearance which I found so cute and totally his age! Definitely my favorite celebrity at the award show!

Confessions of a Shopaholic During Sale Season
Hi guys! As most of you are aware, the sale season has began! After Christmas and New Year are over, all your favorite stores go on sale! That time, my friends, is any girl's (or a shopaholic's) best time of year! Holiday sales aren't like any other sales, no no, they have a certain spirit to them. The stores are still decorated and the malls are still packed since everyone gets a few days after the New Year to rest a bit. So! How does a shopaholic react to these sales?! Well let's do this in chronological order why don't we!
1. First things first, we get a message on our cell phones from all our favorite stores telling us about the sale! AND it's a crime to put our phone down before we forward the message to our closest friends just in case (although if you're a shopaholic, your close friends are probably as well, so they definitely got the messages, lol!)
2. After putting the phone down, we attempt to cancel all our plans for the coming days so that we can attack the sales before anyone else does. No one wants to go to a store after the huge crowds of women have already went through all the items and left a sad pile of on-sale items on one of the tables.
3. The attack. Going through the stores when they have a sale is kind of like being in a battlefield. There is no one more aggressive than a woman who also wants the same bag you just set your eyes on. The fitting rooms are full but it is totally worth it to wait in line! That being said, there are always some girls who try to cut the line, but that ain't happening when I'm around, LOL! The best stores during the sales are the stores that have employees constantly putting everything back into place. Although I adore shopping, I instantly give up when the items are messy and nothing is shown clearly. I just walk out of the store in disappointment!
4. After trying on 720311222938464568 items, you are finally ready to take your picks to the cashier! At the cashier they usually have smaller items such as accessories stuffed in little compartments. What's another item going to do? You're not going to go broke, so you pick up a few items while waiting in line. When it's your turn, you happily watch the cashier fill up your bag with the brand new items that you are going to take home with you.
5. Finally, and this is my personal favorite part, unpacking the items from their bags. The crispness of the bags, the softness of the material, laying out all your items on your bed before you remove the tags and fold them into your closet. This is happiness!
ALRIGHT so I'm not a crazy shopaholic (denial) but I do love shopping! I think every girl who's been shopping can relate to this!
